RCW's FINAL COUNTDOWN to Full Circle IX was an exciting event that took Jackson by storm! We saw a tagteam
self implode, a tournament announced, and learned that someone is retiring at Full Circle! That's just the tip of the iceberg! Here's what went down at Final Countdown:
FINAL COUNTDOWN RESULTS
"American Idol" Dirk Extreme defended his RCW NORTH AMERICAN TITLE against the returning "Freebird" Bryan Cross. Trik Nasty once again had to fulfill his "ROADIE" obligations and accompany Extreme to the ring. Cross was on top of his game and nearly had Extreme beat. Nasty interfered on Dirk's behalf causing Extreme to get DQ'd but retain the title. Extreme ordered Nasty to beat down on Cross. The two went to work on him until Flash Fury stormed the ring. "Loony" Mike Horton came out and
changed Fury and Nasty's match that was to happen later to a tagteam match pitting Nasty & Extreme against Flash and Cross.
Loony had words with WrestleOhio's Mastermind and Sara who out gloating about their recent Tuxedo Match win. Loony couldn't believe that Exotic E stuck his nose into their match. Loony had an announcement....at Full Circle IX, it would be Loony VS Exotic E in a RETIREMENT MATCH!
"Captivating" Corey Mason had an axe to grind with the RCW Trainees. Seemed some were thinking they were better than him. Whether or not that is true that is what Mason believed. Corey put out an open challenge and new RCW Trainee, Jason Legend accepted. Legend put up a good fight. Mastermind was at ringside and may have distracted Legend but regardless, Mason also put up a good fight and showed some long pent-up aggression allowing him to pick up the "W"
New RCW World Tagteam Champions, Adrenaline X (Ron Mathis & Devon Maximus) were up against Metal Mayhem (Keith Hamblin and Heavy Metal) which is a team they have NEVER been able to beat. Never say never as the internal problems in Metal Mayhem came to a boil. Both teams showed excellent skills. Match was definitely a "must see". In the end Metal accidental hit Hamblin and Adrenaline X showcased a new move to finish off Heavy Metal. Afterwards, Hamblin and Metal had to be pulled apart by the emptied lockeroom as the two brawled to the back.
It was announced that due to injury that RCW World Heavyweight Champion, "Violent" Vance Desmond would have to relinquish his title. At Full Circle IX a 4-man tournament will be held in which Desmond will present the belt to the new champion!
Flash Fury & Bryan Cross defeated Dirk Extreme & Trik Nasty. Both teams displayed great wrestling action. In the end, Extreme wanted to get the pin and kept making Nasty tag him to no avail. Then Extreme tagged himself in as Nasty was in the corner attempting to suplex Fury. Cross knocked Dirk into Trik. Cross and Fury finished Dirk off for the win.
Tyson Rogers battled WrestleOhio's Jock Samson. Rogers nearly won but was distracted by The Mastermind and then ate a lariat for his trouble allowing Samson to get the win. Rogers was sure that he was on a winning streak and was let down from the loss. Mind and Samson seen something in Rogers and asked him to join WrestleOhio. Against the fans wishes, Rogers joined becoming the newest
member of WrestleOhio.
It was determined that the winner of this match could pick their first round opponent out of the 4 that would entered into the RCW Title Tournament. This match was the first time that Juggulator and Chad Cruise would face each other in one on one action. Adrenaline X had been banned from ringside. Match was a back and forth battle that many felt The Juggulator had the edge in winning. Chad Cruise pulled through and defeated the Juggulator. Cruise now gets to pick his first round opponent in the FCIX RCW Title Tournament!
